2010 Tybee Wine Festival

The Friends of Tybee Theater will host the 2010 Tybee Wine Festival on April 17, 2010 from 3 pm to 7 pm on the grounds of the Tybee Lighthouse.  The festival will feature over 100 international wines and tapas from the islands best restaurants. Two new features this year will be Craft Beers and a silent auction.

An Evening of Oysters & Wine will be on Friday, April 16, 2010, from 6 pm to 8pm at Marlin Monroe’s. Tickets are $20. Enjoy and evening sampling oysters paired with wines. There will stations serving different oyster delicacies along with wines that compliment oysters. There will also be stations with non-seafood fare. Tickets for the Evening of Oysters & Wine are available at TybeeWineFestival.com. There will be a limited amount of tickets at the door.

Participating restaurants are The Hunter HousePapa’s Bar B Que & SeafoodThe Breakfast Club, Fannie’s on the Beach, Marlin Monroe’s, Doc’s Bar, Huc A Poo’s , Sundae Café and Sting Ray’s.  Attendees will receive a souvenir wine glass, information about the restoration and trolley rides to tour the theater.  Burke’s Beach Umbrellas and Chairs will provide comfort and shade. Mary Davis and Company will be providing entertainment at 4pm.

Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at TybeeWineFestival.com, TybeePostTheater.com and SavannahBoxOffice.com or at the event.  All festival proceeds go to the restoration of the Tybee Post Theater.

RAIN SITE – TYBEE GYM In the event of April Showers the wine tasting will take place at the Tybee Gym located at Butler Avenue and 5th Street in Memorial Park.

The 2009 Wine Festival was very successful and earned over $10,000 for the restoration of the Tybee Post Theater as well as hosting over 300 people at the Lighthouse for a beautiful afternoon on Tybee tasting over 100 wines and samples from some of the island’s finest restaurants.  The wine vendors commented that last year’s event was one of the best wine events they had attended in the area and several of the restaurants commented it was the best event of the year on the island and they are excited to participate again this year.
